WhatsApp for iOS has received an update that allows you to pause and resume recording voice messages. This is a follow-up to the newly released voice message preview function, which allows users to listen to and check their voice messages before sending them to contacts. WhatsApp has been upgraded to include support for iOS 15's Focus mode. The new capabilities are presently available to a limited number of iPhone users, but they will be made available to all qualified customers in the coming weeks. The instant messaging programme WhatsApp for iOS version 22.5.75 now allows iPhone users to pause and restart recording audio conversations. It effectively takes the role of the previous stop button, which was introduced as part of the voice message preview functionality.

It's also worth noting that the updated experience is currently only available to iPhone users, as users on WhatsApp for Android are still unable to pause and resume their voice message recordings. It's also worth noting that, while the updated version of WhatsApp is only available to a select group of users, those on the older version have begun to receive the new voice message recording experience. This indicates that the update is being implemented on the server side. WhatsApp has taken another step toward improving the voice messaging experience on its app by allowing users to pause and restart their recordings. Users sending audio messages previously had access to features such as playing speed and waveforms thanks to the startup owned by Facebook parent Meta.

Support for the Focus Mode is the second enhancement that the new WhatsApp for iOS delivers to users. Users will be able to contemplate receiving communications from certain users even if they don't want to be bothered by regular alerts. With the newest version, WhatsApp for iOS now shows group and profile photographs alongside notifications whenever you get a new message. This works in the same way that you see profile images of individuals who send you direct messages on Twitter. WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp beta tracker, first noticed it earlier this month. The functionality is also only available to iOS 15 and later users.
